Summary:This study aims to investigate Islamic activities in the economic field and to activate the role of lawful Islamic monitoring by making it one of the correct adjustment tools in banking activities. It also serves as continuous monitoring of practical application from the Shari'ah perspective, which displays the standard of attention paid by Islamic banks to the sensitive side of economic life. The qualitative method is used to investigate the materials that from the model of the study and is background, and the Qur'anic and the Prophetic texts that are related to the topic. The analytical method is also applied to scientifically analyze the data collected from some reliable sources, and draw the below conclusion. The study concludes that lawful monitoring is an obligation as acknowledge by Shari'ah texts and Scholars' consensus. Islamic banking has given great attention to lawful monitoring and devised effective methods for its application. Their rules acknowledge the formation of an independent division consisting of specialists for lawful monitoring. The formation and separation of this division can be completed only by the acknowledgement from the general board of the bank. The rules also acknowledged the effectiveness of decisions made by the lawful monitoring division and the obligation of the banks to implement them. The lawful monitoring divisions in Jordanian Islamic banks have undeniably made a great contribution in the development of new banking activities such as al-Mudarabah, al-Musharakah and al-Murabahah as the alternative to the current banking activities.
