Description
Summary:This research aims at studying Surat Yasin through the thematic approach by looking at its two sides: namely esoteric and exoteric. For the exoteric side, the research focuses on explaining the benefit, occasions of revelation, its objectives, and other relevant points which have relevance to Surat Yasin. As far as the esoteric part is concerned, an attempt is made to elucidate the thematic unity of the Surah by demonstrating its relationship which brings all the themes of the Surah into one major topic which produces a coherent sequence between the parts of the Surah. To produce sufficient and valid argument the study deals with the linguistic and rhetorical styles. To narrow down the topic, the research confines itself to Surat Yasin. However, when necessary, other Surahs are examined to strengthen arguments in this thesis. The research relies on two main approaches: analytical and descriptive. The analytical approach is used to explain and discuss major concepts, meanings, and thematic issues found in the Surah. The descriptive method is utilized to describe some of its outer characteristics.
