| 总结: | This research studies the King Fahd Complex's version of Translation of the Meaning of the Glorious Qur'an to Yoruba Language, using contrastive critical analytical method in showing manners of inequivalence in translation within selected samples of translational problems in words, expressions, metaphors and metonyms. The work aims at contributing in refining the translation work studied, and to alert the concerned quarters to the necessity of improving it. It refers to books of exegesis, linguistic references and Arabic lexicons in taking decisions on inequivalences. In the studied samples, the study takes into consideration that the work contains errors, ambiguities, and inability to render appropriate meaning or such sample likely to cause confusion in the presentation of meaning. The work compares modes of translating some recurring examples in the Qur'anic chapters in an attempt to benefit in the right manner when attempting to correct the inequivalence. The study suggests for every sample of the problems, an alternative derived from the discussion. It concludes that inequivalences of varying degree exist in the Qur'anic translation studied. But while some of them have the tendency to alter the meaning of the verse, others may cause ambiguity of meaning. Yet, others may not be regarded as errors, but rather as nonpreferred modes of translation. |
