520 |a IEEE802.11e is a concrete challenge to provide Quality of Service (QoS) for IMM applications due to the adoption of resource allocation parameter named Transmission Opportunity (TXOP) limitfor heterogeneous traffic flows. TXOP limit facilitates same categories multiple packets transmission until the allocated time expired. This parameter is fixed for different specific Interactive Multimedia (IMM) traffic flow in IEEE802.11e standard. It works well during the normal transmission through the network. However, due to the variation of traffic load inWireless Campus Network (WCN), the fixed bandwidth reservation parameter is not sufficient to guarantee QoS for IMM traffic flows. When network's traffic load is very low, although, there is no same categories of traffic to transfer but others category of traffics have to wait until the current TXOP limitis expired. Thus, wastes the channel bandwidth over the network. In contrast, when network's traffic load is too high, fixed duration of time is not sufficient to guarantee QoSbecause the packet loss occurs. Many researchers regulate TXOP limitdynamically to ensure QoSover the network but still have some unresolved problem with it. This thesis introduces an Enhanced Distributed Channel Access (EDCA) resource allocation parameter which regulates according to the variation of traffic load over WCN, named dynamic TXOP limit. This thesis also employs the analytical model for proposed parameter and numerical analysis of existing and proposed parameter. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme allows to improve significantly QoS performance of IMM traffics and to enhance the jitter, end-to-end delay, throughput and Packet Delivery Ratio (PDR)about 36.36%, 40.99%, 14.80% and 17.91% respectively.
