Description
Summary:The title of this research is Abdullah Al-Tayib and the Classical Elements in his Poetry: The Case of Banat Rama Collection. Abdullah Al-Tayib is known as a man of letters and critique before becoming a poet, but he sees himself as a poet first and foremost. He has written a number of poetic divans reaching six collections; the dominant character of these poetic divans is to trace the ancient structure of Arabic poems and all of his poems were written according to a column of Arabic poetry, unified rhyme scheme, ancient Arabic imagination and fantasies, and talks about ruins. Nevertheless, we find that his poetry is all characterized by strong words and durable foundries. Abdullah Al-Tayib depended on the old structure of poetry and substance. The Banat Ramat is one of his poetical works and the title itself is a reference to the writer and the link to old Arab literature. This collection, from cover to cover, included 66 poems focusing on the purpose of Arabic poetry. The classical trend plays an important role in Abdullah Al-Tayib's divans; the classic is a literary doctrine based on replicating the ancient arts and undergoes technical principles that guide those arts and the link to the old literary heritage. In the light of these characteristics, the researcher studied these poetic divans to show the extent to which true classical elements apply in the poetry of this writer, and to stand at the linguistic phenomenon that has characterized his literary works, referring to the positive effects to enrich the Arabic linguistic heritage.
