Aside from determining the indicators and factors, this research aims to discover the differences between the well-being across the gender and age divide. Holistic-Dynamic Theory by Abraham Maslow is employed in this research to form its conceptual framework. The study took a quantitative approach. Using purposive sampling method, 264 participants form the London Muslim youth community were selected. The participants selected were from the 15-24 years of age range. Well-being was measured using the existing scale and SPSS 20.0 was used to analyze the raw data. The existing scales used in the study were both valid and reliable. Factors and indicators of mental well-being were examined using descriptive statistics, factor analysis test and Multiple Regression method for seven constructs, namely, hope, piety, social interest, self-development, self-goal, well-being and self-acceptance. The analysis revealed that the three factors of mental well-being among Muslim youth in London were self-acceptance, social interest, and resilience. In other words, the best indicators state that the more the levels of self-acceptance, social bonding, and resilience, the better their mental well-being. Other factors have also been found to contribute separately and individually towards mental well-being. | ||
