Summary: | This study aims to explain The Contributions of Abu Bakr ibn al-Arabi in his Shari'ah objectives in al-Masalik fii Sharih Muwatta' Malik. To achieve the main objective of this study which is to answer the following two questions: What is the impact of fiqh and usul principles which have Shari'ah objective dimensions in ibn al-Arabi's explanation of the Prophet's Hadith (peace be upon him) in the Muwatta' Malik? and What is the extent of his concern about the advantages of mankind in his explanation of the book?. The researcher collected those principles from the book and grouped them into textual and mental principles, then he tried to explain the rules under each section by transferring the sayings of ibn al-Arabi from the book al-Masalik, supported by opinions of scholars and the researcher's comments where necessary, either for their acceptance or rejection. The researcher applied both inductive and analytical methods to achieve the main objective of the study. The researcher mentiones that Maliki's school of thought has chosen it as the fifth source of Shari'ah, after agreeing on four other sources by the majority of scholars. Ibn al-Arabi always paid more attention to the issue of advantage in his explanation, even though he used to specify general texts. This study arrived at the conclusion that ibn al-ArabÊ contributed a lot to the area of Shari'ah objectives, and especially in his explanation of al-Masalik by using both the jurisprudential and essential of fiqh rules, taking advantage into consideration when explaning the sayings of the Prophet (peace be upon him). The study gives recommendation on the necessity of paying more attention to the reading of ibn al-Arabi's books to know his concerns about the rule of advantage, in terms of Islamic understanding (fiqh) and its fundamentals, and to benefit from his concern in knowing and understanding the objectives of Shari'ah. |
