Description
Summary:This research explores the Qur'anic styles of critique used towards the People of the Book, their nature and characteristics, scope and dimensions. The contributions of this research can be found in the discussion on the taxonomy of the Qur'anic styles of critique used towards the People of the Book and the projection of the Qur'anic approach of critique in today's context of interfaith dialogue. Using an analytic and comparative method, this study addresses the similarities and differences between those very styles of critique with regards to the People of the Book. This research has delved into the implications of using those Qur'anic styles of critique in contemporary context of interfaith dialogue and religious co-existence. This study concludes that in essence, the critique of the Qur'an conveys the Qur'an's fundamental themes through a multitude of styles including criticisms, and that an understanding of those styles is an imperative task on the way to develop an original Qur'anic paradigm of interfaith dialogue and inter-religious communication.
