520 |u The main purpose of this study is to investigate the use of e-Portfolio in the teaching and learning of Arabic as a foreign language in Malaysia and examine the important steps in designing e-Portfolio for educational purposes. The study also aims to measure and compare the interest in utilizing e-Portfolio between students studying Arabic as their major at the International Islamic University Malaysia (HUM) and the International Islamic University College Selangor (KUIS). A survey was conducted on 60 students in both universities. The survey consisted of 15 items representing their interests towards the programme based on these characteristics; friendliness, helpfulness, interest, difficulty and motivation. The Cronbach Alpha reliability of the questionnaire was 0.913. The study shows that the level of students' interest in utilizing e-Portfolio was high (4.36) for students from both universities when using e-Portfolio in their learning. The study concludes that e-Portfolio can be used by all students majoring in Arabic regardless of their level of study; advanced, intermediate or beginning levels.  |a
