It attempts to consult the original sources of Buddhism. Firstly, this study discusses the interpretation of the Five Precepts in Buddhism, namely, prohibition of killing, adultery, lying and taking intoxicant. Further, the Islamic doctrines which resemble Buddhism's Five Precepts are explained. In the last chapter the researcher proposes a comparison between Buddhism's Five Precepts and Islamic ethics (akhlaq) from an analytical work of study. This study might be resourceful for those who need a comprehensive knowledge of the Buddhism's five precepts and compare them from the Islamic point of view. It also provides an insight understanding for Muslims in order to live in harmony in a Buddhist society. Specifically, this study will enhance a conducive atmosphere whenever there is an urge for such inter-faith dialogue between Buddhism and Islam. | ||
