| Summary: | The study was conducted to analyze the emotional intelligence in the light of the Sunnah through Sahih Al-Bukhari and compare it with contemporary Western psychologists' points of view. This researcher treated the Western outlook towards emotional intelligence by referring to their pioneering scholarly literature in the field, concurrently comparing it with the Islamic standpoint by giving an analytical study of the Prophet's (peace be upon him) most significant talks which are related to the subject of emotional intelligence. Therefore, the implemented methodology of this research are the analytical and inductive approaches and comparative method. one of the most important findings of the study is how the the Sunnah of the Prophet had treated the subject of emotional intelligence with more details a long time ago. However, it is considered as one of the most recent Western findings in Contemporary Psychology. It did not only gather all of this principles and aims but discarded thous that are not compatible with human instincts and Allah's will, the later is general law per se that people can instinctively appeal to. Furthermore, the Sunnah gives this notion of divine magnitude and makes it workable with the second source of legislation in the field of Psychology. It further hoghlights human beings in seeking their individual interest and being obsessed with happiness and success (that the West is still seeking and could not yet accomplish), to hopefully win in this life and the next, considering the public interest and fulfilling the pleasure of the Almighty Creator. |
