| 520 | |a The aim of this research is to show the competency of Sheikh Wan Ahmad al-Fathani in loaning Arabic words into Malay language in writings, and the study of Arabic loan words in Malay language especially in some religious and scientific words in his book. This study has followed the descriptive and analytical approaches, extracting the Arabic loan words in his book "Bahjat al-mubtadin wa-farhat al-mujtadin" and then trying to explain and clarify their meanings and developments using a few dictionaries. The significance of the lexical meaning in Malay language constructs is an important focus in this research. The study has resulted in important finding. Firstly, the Arabic language is already established in the Malay society, and thus significantly impacts the Malay language. The Arabic loan words used in the Malay language are similar to the original Arab words, for instance Iman, Solat and Zakat. Some of the words have changed their original Arabic meaning through expansion or compression. This researcher addresses this title for the benefit of Science of language students and suggests ways to study the relevance of the Arabic loan words in Malay language and relevance in modern language study. | ||
