To see differences in the rating of identity domains across students gender, age, region, faculties, and academic status. As to whether IIUM youths emphasize different feature of identity domains rated most important. The extended objective measure of ego-identity status (EOMEIS), the self-report assessment of identity formation, described by James Marcia as the most thoroughly developed self-report measurement of the ego identity status paradigm, was employed to assess the foru identity statuses: Achievement, Moratium, Foreclosure and Diffusion among the youths. The sample consisted of 110 youths from various faculties. Information regarding with gender, age, regions, faculties and academic status in which students are affiliated with, was obtained through questionnairre. In addition, five hypothesizes were tested. It was expected to show no gender differences would appear in identity statuses; and it was hypothesized that females would score higher on measures of interpersonal domains compared to male students. Among the results, females were siignificantly higher on mearures of interpersonal, ideologiccal achievement and moratorium than male counterparts. Overall, most of the results are consistent with the expectations. The findings are discussed in terms of the need for larger and more comprehensive research efforts.
