The researcher implemented an analytical method in this study where six sources of evaluation standards were analyzed : Tool in Evaluating Textbooks for Teaching Arabic to Non-native Speakers by Rushdie Ahmed To'eima as a basic reference, Card of Textbook's Score by Muhammad Haron Husaini, Skierso Evaluation Checklist, Composite Framework for ESL Textbook Evaluation by Jayakaran Mukundan, Tool of American Council of Teachers of Foreign Languages in the Evaluation Textbooks, and Standards of Malaysian Ministry of Education in the Evaluation Textbooks. All these standards were analysed in order to build the proposed criteria to be evaluated by Arabic language experts from Malaysia. This proposed criteria was distributed to ten selected Arabic experts in the field in two ways: electronic list through the website, and also delivered by hand. They represent nine universities and colleges offering Arabic language teaching programmes at different educational levels: bachelor, master and doctoral degrees. This study suggests a vision for a new tool based on the criteria developed in the evaluation of Arabic language textbooks, using the computer programme "Microsoft Excel", improved by Rushdie To'eima's Criteria | ||
