| الملخص: | The study of "soul purification" very important as it is related to the understanding of the nature of human soul, its education and excellence. Muslim intellectual heritage contains rich source- material for a study of this kind. This study therefore, analyses Imam al- Ghazali's views about the soul and its purification and evaluates bis ideas in the light of The Quran and The Sunnah and its acceptability and feasibility to the intellect and true experience. This study includes the concept (If the soul and the education (physical, intellectual and moral) and the methods of realization of these aspects (through examples, using proverbs etc). These methods are tatahhur (purification) tahaqquq (realization) and takhalluq (good conduct). The study found that al- Ghazali's concept of education is comprehensive and a composite whole. His methods are consistent with the methods of the Holy Quran and were deduced from it. His understanding of the Holy Quran helped and guided him to produce valuable knowledge in the field of soul purification. |
