Description
Summary:This study examined teachers' attitude and attempt toward the inculcation of Islamic values in teaching at the International Islamic School. An attempt was further made to explore the relationship between the International Islamic School teachers' attitude and their attempt to inculcate Islamic values in their teaching. To achieve these purposes, a questionnaire was specifically designed for the sole purpose of getting information from the respondents consisting of teachers. The questionnaires were distributed to all academic staff at International Islamic School (N=72). Descriptive analysis was employed to describe the teachers' attitude and attempt toward the inculcation of Islamic values in teaching. Moreover, a Pearson correlation analysis was computed to determine how strongly the teachers' attitude and attempt were linearly related. The analysis revealed that the teachers at the International Islamic School hold positive attitude toward the inculcation of Islamic values in education. The findings also indicated that teachers at International Islamic School attempt to inculcate Islamic values in teaching. Moreover the Pearson' product moment correlation analysis showed that "Attitude" and "Attempt" are significantly correlated. This indicates that most of the teachers in the International Islamic School hold positive attitude toward the inculcation of Islamic values in teaching; they consequently could attempt to instill Islamic values in teaching. Finally, useful suggestions were given in order to improve students' character by means of inculcation of Islamic values by teachers.
