| الملخص: | This research aims to taste the beauty of Al-Mutanabi's poetry, as he abounds in his poetry; the art of simile and metaphor in a clear manner. The researcher adopted descriptive and analytical approach to conduct this study. In the beginning, the researcher presented an overview of Abu Al-Tayeb Al-Mutanabbi's biography and the environment in which he lived, defined the art of simile and metaphor in the Arab heritage, and then addressed the main topic of the research, which is simile and metaphor in al-Mutanabbi's poetry with its five branches; These include the sensory, mental, representative, distant, and implicit simile. As for the metaphor, the researcher discussed six types of metaphors: Among them is the declarative metaphor, the metaphor, the abstract, the nominative, the far-fetched, and the representative metaphor. In this study, the researcher explained Al-Mutanabbi's ingenuity and innovation of new meanings in terms of choosing words, coordinating them in a format that includes some ingenuity and statement. He was able with few words to lead several ideas, then came up with a beautiful and wonderful picture in his poems, interspersed with judgment and proverbs. The findings show that Al-Mutanabbi's poetry improves the linguistic and rhetorical ability of the Arabic language student in the skill of expression, acquisition of the eloquent and eloquent Arabic style. |
