It also tracks their role since the dawn of Islam, and the efforts Omanis took in spreading the true Islam. The study also examines Islamic values inherent in the Omani navy, which were instrumental in the leadership of the Khulafah al-Rashideen 'Pious Caliphs' and the Islamic preachers who disseminated Islam, with their lofty characteristics and example, throughout the Indian Ocean maritime civilization, from Africa to China. They left a profound and enduring impact on the hearts of the peoples they encountered. This study presents the pioneering role of the Omani navy during the Ya'ariba dynasty, and the role they played in repelling the Portuguese and removing them from the Omani coasts and their successive attacks on the Portuguese coast in East Africa, which resulted in the defeat of the latter in the region, as well as their handing over of key fortresses, all of which had a great impact on the indigenous people of Africa in receiving the Arabs and Omanis on their lands. Due to the relations between Arabs and Africans, Arab societies were formed on the coast, and this contributed to the cultural, social, and political prosperity of the coasts of East Africa and the Arabian Peninsula. The study explores the effects of Portuguese colonialism, at the economic level (represented in controlling seaports and sea lanes), and at the intellectual and religious level, including their crusade against Islam by demolishing mosques and aggressively spreading Christianity through Christian missionary activities alongside military conquest, building churches in the areas they controlled. Therefore, the study clearly shows the role of the Omani navy during the historical eras, focusing on the reign of the Ya'ariba dynasty, and their role in repelling and expelling the Portuguese along the Omani coast, the Arabian Gulf, and the western coast of India, in addition to the eastern coast of Africa.
