The primary focus of this study is to examine the external features, ornamentation styles, and materials used in the construction of the palaces and mosques, and the impacts of other dynasties and cultures upon their architectural styles and techniques, using qualitative and content-analysis methodological approaches, rather than purely analytical research. Moreover, this study highlights that the Abbasids had outstanding palace and mosque structures relative to comparable civilizations. This research collected relevant data from both primary and secondary sources, which were used to demonstrate cosmopolitan elements, particularly Roman, Sassanid, and Umayyad impacts, upon Abbasid architecture. The findings of this research present the continuity of Islamic architecture from the Prophet Muhammad's period until the Abbasid era, as well as including new elements deriving from diverse cultures. | ||
