Description
Summary:The aim of this study is to investigate the effectiveness of the electronic pen in developing recitation skills and to show the relationship between motivation and recitation skills among the weak male and female students in Abu Dhabi province. (1437 1437h / academic year)The descriptive and quasi-experimental methods were used. The sample size was 135 students in the fifth grade in Abu Dhabi province academic year). They were divided into two groups; experimental and control groups and came from two schools: Hamouda Ben Ali School for Boys and Al-Zabianiya Girls' School. The experimental group consisted of 68 students. Statistical procedures were undertaken including T-test, Cronbach's Alpha, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and Haridy's effectiveness and effect size. The results show that the effectiveness and effect size of the independent variable on the dependent variable was 0.46. This indicates the acceptable amount of effectiveness of the electronic pen reader in developing recitation skills. There is also a statistically significant difference between the mean of the experimental group and the control group (t = 13.0, p < 0.50). Nevertheless, there is no statistically significant difference between males and females of the experimental group when using the electronic pen. Additionally, there is a positive correlation (r = 0.53, p < 0.01) between motivation and recitation skills for males. The research contributes to the use of modern technology in the teaching of recitation skills. It also sheds some lights to the students' needs in learning recitation and increasing their motivation through methods able to simulate learning recitation skills via self-learning and intrinsic modes.
