It is due to its emphasis on social reformation and naturally, this reformation needs effective roles in education. The exegesis, in addition, is selected as the focus of this study because of its content, which contains sufficient elements in educational ideas and practices. This situation is related to the exegete's involvement in the different stages of education; primary, secondary and tertiary levels as well as education beyond those levels. JawharÊ's points of view on education may be relevant and beneficial to study, especially to contemporary teachers. This study attempts to highlight ideas of education in the exegesis, studying them based on the context of contemporary education in order to examine its practice, explain how extensive his ideas on education are with contemporary practices. This study used the inductive and descriptive approaches in order to extract and follow the exegete's points of view on education. This study also depends on the analytical approach in an attempt to understand the exegete's methodology, analyse his ideas on education, relate the influence of education in shaping the exegete's ideas on reformation and his methodology exegesis and extract any form of value added which can benefit Malaysian educational practices. It is clear from the findings of this study that educational experience, in essence, plays major roles in moulding an exegete's being and practices especially his personality and his styles. The study also finds that the exegete's ideas on education such as the importance of integration between religious education and modern knowledge are important in today's education. It is without any doubt, that the exegete preceeded his time in looking at education, especially in finding interesting and effective ways to educate, applying theoretical knowledge into practice, maintaining the importance of condusive schools for successful teaching and learning activities, and emphasizing on life-long learning. All these is to develop effective educational practices which can be a medium for change in society. These are among the most important elements of today's educational practices. Thus, this makes his ideas revolutionary and beneficial to all stages of education. That is why, the exegete should be a model for today's educational practitioners in an attempt to shape their professional personality. This is to ensure that education plays a role in society and is key to success, allowing social and ummatic reformation to be fulfilled. | ||
