Summary:The current study aims at assessing the impact of institutional support, technical experience, and attitudes on the acceptance and use of technology in education by the teaching staff personnel of Islamic sciences at Riyadh universities. This is achieved by applying the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT), and suggesting its proper applications. The population of the study was 984 teaching staff personnel of Islamic Sciences at Riyadh Universities. The sample comprised of 310 members. The approach used was a cross-sectional approach. An instrument (i.e. questionnaire) was designed especially for this study. The researcher used the SPSS statistical program to analyze the data. The Explanatory Factor Analysis EFA technique was used by analyzing the basic components of the study model. The researcher also used other techniques, such as Confirmatory Factor Analysis, Descriptive Analysis of means and percentiles. The model was tested through Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) using the AMOS program. The study reached to various findings. First, the availability of institutional support and technical expertise has a great impact on the acceptance and use of technology among the teaching staff personnel of Islamic sciences in education. The study also revealed that there are differences in the actual use of technology in education; some members use the technology rigorously and others never use it at all. The study also revealed results of statistical significance based on demographic variables in the responses of the respondents. The study highlighted the importance of constantly arranging training courses dealing with technology for teaching staff personnel. The study also advised that the promotion of teaching staff personnel at universities should be linked to the extent of their technology used during their lectures at the university. There is a necessity to benefit from the criterion suggested in this study and to apply this study on the teaching staff personnel of other disciplines, such as literary and scientific subjects, in order to find out the extent to which they accept and use technology in education.
