Summary:This qualitative narrative research aim to provide an in-depth understanding on how a female Muslim suicide attempt survivor can develops suicidal thoughts and how she managed to cope with that self-destructive thought. By 'narrative' it means from the point of view of a female Muslim suicide attempt survivor herself. The results revealed that the main cause would be the negative life events, being raped and manipulated, followed by other negative symptoms such as depression, insomnia and many more. How she managed to survive from her suicide attempt, first, by using dysfunctional coping that brings only negative outcome. Second, she then changed to problem-focused coping and emotional-focused coping where she had re-scheduling her daily routine, be more discipline and constantly feed her soul with praying and other positive activities. This study recommends that suicidal individual need to enhance the capability to regulate own emotion to resist the impulse. Learn to reach help by having a strong social support seeking attitude to vocalize the thoughts. Another various implications and recommendations of these findings are further discussed.
