Summary:This research seeks to determine the degree of harmony between the Shariʻah Committees and the implementation of Shariʻah governance of Bank Islam and Maybank Islamic, especially after the enforcement of the Islamic Financial Services Act (2013). This research also seeks to discover the methods followed by the Shariʻah Committees relating to resolutions processes in Bank Islam and Maybank Islamic and differences of resolutions issued by the Shariʻah Committees in the Bank Islam and Maybank Islamic. The researcher followed a set of scientific methodologies that dealt with the subject through the inductive method. Then through the qualitative approach, the researcher conducted a series of personal interviews with some members of the Shariʻah Committees and staffs of the Shariʻah Department of the Bank Islam and Maybank Islamic. The researcher then analyzed all the information collected from personal interviews as well as the information obtained through the inductive method. Finally, the researcher compared Bank Islam and Maybank Islamic in relations to their implementations of banking practices according to the maqasid shariʻah. The study concluded with a set of results: Firstly, differences in the methods of resolutions among members of the Shariʻah Committee. Secondly, differences in professional background of the Shariʻah Committee members and thirdly, the Shariʻah Committees are not familiar with the actual operations of issuance of the operations.
