Description
Summary:In the stream of interactivity development, interactive installation still restricts the degree of responsiveness with a non-intuitive outlook. Besides, the level of interactivity where one chooses from a list of options to obtain the desired feedback has been used in art installation fro decades, which suggests passiveness despite action of the users mind (Drucker, 1997). Since interactivity is one of the key elements to sustain participation, this research intends to investigate the enjoyment level in interactive installation based on the Principles of Interactive Installation suggested by Dinkla (1994). Spatial relations between the audience and the installation will be considered in the study primarily to understand the user experience and its impact to the level of enjoyment. Csikszentmihalyi (1990) suggested a theory that people are most happy when they are in the state of flow - a state of concentration or complete absorption with the activity at hand and the situation.
