Contrast Enhancement of Computed Tomography Brain Images for Ischaemic Stroke Detection
Nowadays, the manual examination of computed tomography (CT) brain images is still practised. Depending on human expertise and experience, the ischaemic stroke detection is always prone to human visual error. Therefore, image processing techniques are applied to enhance image contrast for improved d...

The histogram equalisation (HE) is widely applied in medical image processing due to its speed and simplicity. However, the conventional HE and even some improved schemes introduce undesired enhancement defects, such as over-enhancement and level saturation, on the images. In this research, two HE methods are specifically developed to enhance the contrast of CT brain images for ischaemic stroke detection. 2012-08 Thesis http://shdl.mmu.edu.my/5586/ http://erep.mmu.edu.my/ masters Multimedia University Faculty of Engineering and Technology EREP ID: 7657 |
