Summary: | This research is an investigation for a sustainable revitalisation for the old township of Ipoh, Perak, which is currently in a state of disuse and disrepair. A modified Mehrabian-Russell Model (MR Model) was employed to study the perception of Ipoh residents on what constitute a sustainable revitalisation, and how the revitalisation may incite their emotions, and subsequently influence them to patronise and promote the Old Town to other potential visitors. Both qualitative and quantitative methods were employed. In situ, unobtrusive observations were conducted to gather cognizance of Ipoh’s conditions, and an interview was held with the local planning authority (the Ipoh City Council City Planning Department) to gain insight into future development plans for the Old Town. |
