Summary:This report is concerned with the development of a fuzzy controller for an inverted pendulum system. The pendulum is mounted on a mobile cart. The aim of the controller is to stabilise the pendulum at 90° to the direction of the cart. The controller was designed based on the FuzzyTECH software and then integrated into a computer based main program written using the C-language. The controller performs very well when compared to a generic predictive control technique.
