Summary:The UiTM Faculty of Music first established as the Department of Music in 1984 and was placed under the School of Art and Design. On 21st June 1983, Advanced Diploma in Music course was endorsed by the Ministry of Education. The department was then transferred to the Faculty of Performing Arts in 1998 and the Bachelor of Music Education (Hons.) Degree was established in 1997 under the Faculty of Education. Eventually, UiTM Faculty of Music was established after it was approved in 2006 by the UiTM's Executive Board. Currently, the faculty is situated in Section 17 Campus, UiTM Shah Alam. It offers several programs for both undergraduate and postgraduate students. For undergraduate students, the programs offered are Bachelor of Music Education (Hons.), Bachelor of Music Composition (Hons.), Bachelor of Music Performance (Hons.), Bachelor of Music Business (Hons.) and Diploma in Music. As for postgraduate students, the programs offered include Master of Music (by research), Master of Music Education (by coursework) and PhD in Music (by research).
