| Summary: | There is a rising concern of people safety from fire emergency who unable to be evacuated through the emergency exit routes in the building. Fire evacuation is very important especially for school building with disabled student. Disabled people should also have right to evacuate from the fire incase of emergency. The purpose of this research is to identify the mechanism and guidelines of the current fire safety management in special school in Klang Valley through a series of interview and observation surveys. In this research, three schools have been surveyed during semester 6.The finding found that all the buildings are followed the provided guidelines such as Malaysian Standard 1184 and 1183, UBBL, and the guidelines from Fire and Safety Department. But in the some circumstances, it was found that there were different approaches regarding to the mechanism of fire evacuation for the students with hearing impairment in these schools. |
