Description
Summary:The word silat means a kind of sport or game, which consists of quick movements in attacking and defending. In Malaysia, silat melayu or silat harimau are not popular with children and teenagers. This is because, they are easily swayed by today's technology and foreign culture from foreign countries. Teenagers are less interested in and love martial arts. In fact, some teenagers do not know what silat is. Therefore, the martial arts culture will no longer be practiced by these young people. This is because, the influence of Western culture and life is gradually eroding the feeling of love for the identity of the Malay race to the point of being weak in defending the dignity of the race and the homeland. Teenagers are now easily influenced by western culture and the importance of gadget technology in the millennial era. The future of the country lies with the young generation of today. Therefore, with entertainment such as comic books can attract attention to them and they will love the fairy tales as well as the brave hero characters. This can cultivate the interest of teenagers and children to enjoy the tiger martial arts. The current generation is easy with the exposure of new trends and by producing comic books comparable to foreign countries can spark their interest in martial arts. However, judging from the history of comic production in Malaysia, reading comics is one of the leisure entertainment mediums to fill free time, either while waiting for the bus or when relaxing on weekends.
