Summary:Tutorial is the one of a teaching method implementing in Faculty of Pharmacy, UiTM. However the current concept of tutorial which is more to examination concept is not preferable by the students. The aims of this study are to evaluate the effectiveness of tutorial class toward pharmacy students in UiTM, Puncak Alam campus and to compare the students’ academic performance from two different batches based on CGPA and subjects’ performance (with tutorial and without tutorial). The data was collected via questionnaires, focus group and data archive. The questionnaires were distributed via email. In this study out of 266 emails sent, only 192 responses were received. The statistical analyses used were descriptive statistics test, t-test, Chi-square test and Kruskal-Wallis tests. Based on the results, 51.56% respondents disagreed with tutorial classes and 48.44% respondents agreed with tutorial classes and they want the tutorial classes to be continuing. From the findings, there are significant different between batch 2008 and batch 2009 cGPA. In some subjects the tutorials do help in improving students’ result but in certain subject the tutorials do not help in students’ performances. Overall, the above findings and information are useful to enhance or improve the teaching methods in faculty of pharmacy, UiTM.
