This thesis is a comparative study among modern pianists. Through a detailed analysis of the scores to be selected later, this thesis will explore the notions of tradition and personality in Chopin's play, based on the piano and pedagogical principles that emerge in Chopin's writings and compositions. Through this thesis, pianists can use different means of interpretation to interpret the differences between these styles. Chopin was a famous composer and virtuoso pianist. Music contains solemn emotional expressions that can represent a typical style of Romantic music. Many pianists and teachers believe in the Chopin playing heritage, yet the foundations for this belief are frequently unclear. Because of their indirect pedagogical link with Chopin, these pianists are called Chopin tradition members. To illustrate parallels and contrasts in pianist performance, we will analyse charges concerning how to play expressively in Chopin's composition in pace, dynamic, pedalling technique, and rubato. Aendschi and Dr Yoonie Han were the performers whose performances had chosen for this investigation. We will cover topics like tempo marking, dynamic playing, and the usage of certain rubatos such as ritardando. Discovering each pianist's preferences for playing Chopin's songs may aid pianists in interpreting and presenting the composer's work, as well as piano teachers in teaching Chopin's music. Discovering each pianist's preferences for playing Chopin's songs can aid pianists in better interpreting and presenting Chopin's work and piano teachers in more successfully teaching Chopin's work. 2022 Thesis https://ir.uitm.edu.my/id/eprint/75731/ https://ir.uitm.edu.my/id/eprint/75731/1/75731.pdf text en public degree Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Faculty of Music Montoya Valencia, Juan Daniel
