Information systems “Suspended Meal System in UiTM Jasin” is an online system that helped people to redeem, pay and serve a Suspended Meal in UiTM Jasin. This system of free meal is for people who need it but the meal is paid by another people. The Suspended Meal is usually done by advertising it in a menu board in front of the cafeteria or restaurants and then clients can pick whichever meal they want. There is no system for Suspended Meal in UiTM Jasin either manual or computerized and based on survey, there are needy students or staff that do not take charity, zakat or any free stuff because they do not want to disclose personal information and feel shame. This system is designed by using the principles of Value Sensitive Design (VSD) technique because technology is not morally neutral. The objective of this project is to identify human values of import related to the environment of a Suspended Meal system. Second objective is to design and develop a Suspended Meal system by using the principle of VSD and finally, to test the functionalities of the system. Research methodology used is Rapid Application Development (RAD) model. Testing has been carried out by 10 students, 3 staffs and 2 cafeteria’s owner. The result shown that in need people can easily get free meals and donators can donate the meal without revealing the personal information and lastly the vendors that collaborating in Suspended Meal can indirectly promote their business to other users. Overall, there are still enhancement that could be proposed for this project in the future such as building the system in mobile phone application for smartphone users. 2016 Thesis https://ir.uitm.edu.my/id/eprint/89023/ https://ir.uitm.edu.my/id/eprint/89023/1/89023.pdf text en public degree Universiti Teknologi MARA, Melaka College of Computing, Informatics and Mathematics |
