| Summary: | Finishing and coating are the important process in furniture manufacturing. The purposes of finishing and coating are to protect and decorate the surface of the medium. Paint is a superior finishes widely utilized for various applications. Otherwise, paint has varied special properties and offered lower cost compared to other finishes. The suitability and effectiveness of oil- paint for the Display Kitchen Ware Rack was justified. Oil-paint was used to attractive appearance and enhanced the aesthetic value of the product. The performance of oil-paint through the design concept of 'jalur gemilang' on this project has been observed. The method used was brushing technique. The major material of this product was MDF which already smooth surface and most ideal for painting. From the observation during finishing process, paint discharged was found occurred on the product surface. Overlap of paint might cause this problem and made the surface not well dried. Brushing system was concentrated to overcome this defect from repeated future. |
