Description
Summary:Demand for inexpensive, low-cost housing is growing as the world's population rises. In the modern community, living in an apartment or other small building is actually the most popular choice. A small house or apartment has a problem with limited living space; it is critical to carefully select furniture items, especially when space is limited, as it is these days. It is also difficult to keep track of important bills, documents, and small, easily misplaced items. This prompted the creation of a multipurpose bookshelf made from rubberwood species to properly store items and solve the problem of limited living space in a small house. The aim of this study is to produce a bookshelf from rubberwood species with multipurpose concept, to design multipurpose bookshelf that is expected to suit customer preferences, as well as to evaluate the user's feedback on the design and function of bookshelf with hidden compartment drawer. The data was gathered using a set of questionnaires distributed to 150 respondents from various gender, age, profession, and income categories. The evaluation was based on raw material, design, marketing, and satisfaction. Reliability analysis, demographic analysis, descriptive analysis, comparative analysis, and correlation analysis were used to evaluate the data. The results revealed that the overall respondents were more concerned with the product's design, with the highest mean of 4.64 when compared to the other three categories. Finally, the respondents agreed that the multipurpose bookshelf made from rubberwood species could be commercialised in the future. Marketing and satisfaction enhancements are required for greater user acceptability.
