Issues such as high labor turnover and hard to retain the hotel employees due to the nature of work in the hotel industry give added insights to this issue. Loyalty is regarded as attitudinal that employees who are satisfied with their job are more likely to engage in a relationship with their employer. Thus, employees who are satisfied with their job are being motivated by intrinsic motivation such as advancement, recognition, responsibility, career growth, and the work itself. In addition, gender has no moderating effect on the relationship between loyalty and intrinsic motivation. The methodology for this study is using quantitative approach. The findings of this study which responsibility and work itself are identified as the two most important factors to motivate hotel employees.
