| Summary: | Funeral costs are increasing and in Malaysia there are Khairat Death Funds which been established to help the funeral management of deceased in a community. This study is a qualitative study for four month which is involving Khairat Death fund organizations, including few number of Khairat Death Fund organizations under a mosques in Malaysia. This study aims to explore the mechanisms and the best model for Khairat Death Fund in Malaysia and it is able to offer for the lower prices. To obtain the data, some of the techniques been used in the study such as interviews, questionaires and referring some of the documents related to this topic. The results of this study have shown that Khairat Death Fund plays important role in Muslim community Malaysia and the appropriate model that been suggested is Cooperative Common Pool by practicing mudharabah or wakalah contract. The results of this study indicate that Khairat Death Fund has potential to be for self-sustainable to manage appropriate investment and thus the benefits can be shared with its members. |
