Summary: | In the present work, blending of Lauroyl Chitosan (L-chitosan) and poly (methylmethacrylate) (PMMA) was used as the polymer host and lithium triflate (LiCF3SO3) as the doping salt for the preparation of solid polymer electrolytes. Samples have been prepared by solution cast technique and were characterized by Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), ScanningElectron Microscopy (SEM) and Impedance Spectroscopy (IS). IR shows that theL-chitosan/PMMA blending has complexes with the salt. L-chitosan/PMMA-30wt.%LiCF3SO3 films exhibit room temperature ionic conductivity of about7.59 x 10-4 Scm1 and this value is acceptable for further preparation of lithium battery. The temperature dependence ionic conductivity study shows the results may follow Vogel-Tamman Fulcher(VTF) behaviour. AC conductivity was studied and discussed using Jonsher’s Universal Power Law. Result of IR analyses was confirmed by XRD and SEM analyses. |
