Summary: | Politics becomes an endless discussion, because the problems in it are always
changing and emerging. One political phenomenon is a coalition between political
parties. This study started from the phenomenon of the political party coalition
between the Justice and Prosperity Party (PKS) and the Democratic Party (PD) in
2009. The party coalition is unavoidable in Indonesia as there is no single party in
Indonesia that has absolute power in the general election. The benefits (maslahat)
from every party play an important role in the coallition, therefore, the benefits or
maslahat have become the basis for the forming of a coalition. This study aims to find
out more about the political party coalition in Indonesia in view of the Islamic Shari'a
as well as its benefits, its obstacles and its impact and whether it is in accordance with
the benefits (maslahat) outlined by Islam. In this study the authors took a sample of
those parties, both are representative of the party based on Islam and Nationalist. The
study conducted by the author is a qualitative study. The author has obtained the data
using the interview to the figures in PKS and PD, coupled with data from other books.
Meanwhile, as for data processing the author used descriptive and analytical methods.
Based on the research of the author, the practice of coalition party is not prohibited by
Islam, whilst the coalition guarantees to keep Islam from disappearing from
institutionalization and politics, and gives a positive impression of human welfare.
Among the interests (maslahat) of this coalition are; the government supervision, the
establishment of an effective government, developing the nation through the
government, etc. The obstacles, among others, are different understandings regarding
the importance of coalition between the people, political parties and Islam, thus
causing a bustling view that the coalition actually does not give any good and benefits.
While the impacts are; the high level of trust from the people to the government, the
balance in checks and balances of the political system, the strong support within the
coalition parties facilitate in making policy, the Islamic powers remain in politic and
the opportunity to decorate it with Islamic norms. |
