Description
Summary:The purpose of this study was to see how much existing knowledge concerning drug usage in sports is understood by athletes in Klang Valley sports schools. This is since many senior athletes around the world, including those in Malaysia, are using drugs to boost their performance. The goal of this study was to determine how much people knew and cared about drug addiction in sports. The research was carried out in sports schools around the Klang Valley. A questionnaire was given to 190 male and female respondents with diverse sports backgrounds to complete this research. In this study, I discovered that providing information on abuse to athletes from the start of their participation in sports is crucial because many of them are unaware that there are also prohibited substances used to improve performance in sports that are neither used by the athletes themselves nor encouraged by their coach. Some people are also unaware that Malaysia has an anti-doping body that regulates and monitors the progress of athletes on a regular basis. Finally, many parties, including the Ministry of Education, the National Sports Council, and sports associations, must play their respective responsibilities in providing entire input to athletes so that their careers and athletes themselves are not entangled in drug addiction in the future.
