description |
The Jawi writing in the Malay language has its origins in the Arabic writing since the
introduction of Islam in the Malay Archipelago. Therefore, the researcher conducted this
research, the subject of which is borrowed Arabic words in the texts of the Eid al-Adha
sermon in the state of Perak between the Arabic and Jawi writing systems: a contrastive
study. The research understands the problem it poses, which is that many of the Arabic
words borrowed in Jawi writing resemble the Arabic spelling, but some of them do not. For
example, the word “ صلاة ” in the Arabic language is used in the same way as in Jawi, but
the word “ أهل ” in the Arabic language differs in Jawi by adding a “ ي” at the end of “ ”.أهلي
The research aims to achieve two goals: focusing on the similarities and differences in the
borrowed Arabic words in the texts of the Eid al-Adha sermon in the state of Perak between
the Arabic and Jawi writing systems. The second: revealing the reasons for the similarities
and differences in the borrowed Arabic words in the texts of the Eid al-Adha sermon in the
state of Perak between the Arabic and Jawi writing systems. The researcher used the
descriptive approach, where he extracted the similarities and differences in the borrowed
Arabic words in the texts of the Eid al-Adha sermon in the state of Perak, then placed them
in a comparison table. After that, the researcher reviewed the theory of Pedoman Ejaan
Jawi Yang Disempurnakan (1986) to explain the results of the research. Among the most
important results is the clear relationship between borrowed Arabic words and Jawi writing
in the texts of the Eid al-Adha sermon in the state of Perak, especially in words related to
worship and religion. Finally, there are suggestions and recommendations to benefit other
researchers in this linguistic field in the future. |
