Summary: | This research focuses on the discussion of the Prophet’s ahādith on medicine. It aims to investigate the impact of the development of medical science and its engagement with the Prophet’s ahādith on medication and determines the scientific regulation in dealing with them while utilizing comparison analysis between the book of Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyyah and al-Nasimi. This research problem stands due to the contentment of scholars through the ages in explaining the hadiths of prophetic medicine with the prevailing science of medicine of their times. It is known that some of them dealt with these hadiths with the knowledge of ancient medicine that does not fit with modern medicine, as well as a plethora of misconceptions related to the hadiths of prophetic medicine today. The researcher follows three approaches in this research: the inductive approach, the analytical approach and the comparative approach. In the first chapter, the researcher discusses the introductory issues of prophetic medicine; its concept, history, and the contributions of scholars in the field, while on the second chapter, the researcher analyses the most critical issues in prophetic medicine, with emphasis given in comparing the positions of Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyyah and al-Nasimi on those issues. In the third chapter, the researcher deduces some impact of medical science in its dealing with the ahādith of Prophetic medicine based on its topics. The last chapter will discuss scientific guidelines in dealing with ahādith of Prophetic medicine, explaining how to apply them in practice. The conclusions reached by the researcher are: Most of Al-Nasimi’s statements confirm what was explained by Ibn Qayyim Al-Jawziyah, and what he benefited from the hadiths of the Prophetic medicine and diversify them. It also indicates that the development of the science of medicine, in most cases, leaves a significant impact on how the scholars deal with the hadiths of the Prophetic medicine - regardless of its topics. The hadiths of the Prophetic medicine require special principles in dealing with them, the most important of which is to ensure that the medical facts used in explaining the hadiths are proven. |
