Summary: | Social life,in all its circumstances and variables, plays a major role in the rehabilitation of a leaders personality capable of making positive changes and decision-making in the society. The current study explores the impact of some of the variables of social life on the decision-making of leadership qualification in Oman, including educational possibilities, the presence of parents at a young age,the standard of living of the family, the vulnerability of friends, and self-construction. The study is based on situational theary, which is one of the most important contemporary theories in leadership. The importance of the study lies in the development of a theoretical framework that contributes to the contemporary construction of a leadship theory that is effective in the development of communities locally as well as globally. To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher followed the descriptive analytical method using SPSS in the analysis in a simple linear regression method. To answer the questions of the study which is divided in a questionnaire, prepared by the researcher after returning and taking advantage of some previous studies, the researcher surveyed 70 influential leading figures politically, socially, and intellectually in the Sultanate of Oman. The study revealed no statiscally significant effect of factors, such as the presence of parents at a young age, the educational possibilities available, and the influence of friends on the decision-making of leadership qualification of the study sample. Also no statistically significant differences were observed in the decision-making of leadership qualification by gender, age, educational qualification, home and social status of the family during socialization. However, the results indicated statistically significant influence of the self-construction factor on the decision-making qualification leadership. As expected, the study found statistically significant differences attributable to the variables of the standard of living of the family, the financial condition of the family and the availability of parents at a young age. However these differences were in favour of the sample with a high standard of living of the family and good financial situation of the family. That its families characterized by stability appeared to make a difference in leadership qualification. The study showed several reasons why leadership personalities have been influential in their fields, such as clarity of vision and goals, mastery of work, dedication, the presence of talent and factors refined by reading, practice and specialization, consulting people and benefiting from their experiences, and insisting on the goals. Finally this study presents a new model that demonstrates the impact of social life on the decision-making of leadership qualification. |
