| Summary: | Facebook’s livestreaming feature is one of the modern tools used by media organization. Therefore, the study aims to explore this feature and its significance and effectiveness in presenting media messages. Based on this perspective, the study aims to explore the effect of using Facebook’s livestreaming future on media messages, as well as to evaluate the interaction rate of the public with the issues raised through this feature. To accomplish the research objectives, the study employed the analytical-descriptive approach and the content analysis grid to analyze 699 livestreaming video clips on the Facebook pages of the research sample. An interview instrument was used to aid data collection. Interviews were carried out with managers of the sample media organizations and digital media experts. To accomplish the research objectives and analysis, the study used the SPSS software. The conceptual model of the study is founded on the agenda-setting theory. The research findings indicated that there is interest among the research sample in the livestreaming feature. The study also revealed that the livestreaming feature positively influences media messages, contributes to the spread of the media messages, and significantly increases their interaction. It also showed that the audience highly interacts with the media messages streamed live on Facebook, and that political issues are the most watched topic on Facebook’s livestreaming feature. The study arrived at several recommendations, the most important of which are: directing satellite channels and radio stations to depart from the familiar in live presentation and transmission to obtain greater outcomes and reach. Palestinian media must increase their employment of Facebook’s livestreaming feature and take advantage of this feature. In addition, there is urgency to generalize the study to media organizations and related sectors, considering that its findings contribute to higher audience interaction with the media messages. |
