Description
Summary:This study aims to reveal the potential relation between principles of governance and job performance of the Ministry of Education’s employees in the Sultanate of Oman, in addition to investigate the role of job satisfaction as a medium variable between the principles of governance and job performance. The research has adopted the descriptive approach, and the research population included (1015) male and female employees at the Ministry’s headquarters. While the application of the study was confined to a random sample consisting of (282) respondents. Moreover, the questionnaire was employed as research instrument that was created through the literature and previous academic studies, and then a set of referees have verified the validity of the questionnaire, as well as its reliability through the Cronbach's Alpha coefficient, where the instrument’s general reliability reached (0.971). In addition, the study has employed the factor analysis in its two types, the exploratory and the confirmatory, Structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) using (SMART PLS) program, Multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) using (SPSS) program. The analysis findings demonstrated the availability of the psychometric properties and the construct validity of the research instrument, and the all study dimensions and variables have fulfilled the conditions of convergent validity as well as divergent validity. Therefore, the research instrument has showed significant quality, reliability and validity, and has proved its relevance for use. In addition, the research findings showed that there is a statistical significance between the principles of governance and its latent variable, while the principles of governance had no direct role or relation to the job performance. Furthermore, it has demonstrated a direct fundamental medial relation for the job satisfaction that is statistically significant between the principles of governance’s variable and the job performance’s variable. In addition, the results of Multivariate analysis of variance indicated that there is a statistically significant differences between the disclosure and transparency principle based upon the job title variable and in favor of the general director. Moreover, the study of the differences for job performance and job satisfaction based upon the job title showed that there is a statistical significance in favor of the general director title. In conclusion, the research recommended the need to review the principles and regulations that in turn can contribute to the achievement of job satisfaction, promoting the performance level for the employees of the general department of Ministry of Education. Furthermore, the study has recommended the importance of conducting further studies on the relation between governance and the job performance, and the role such relation plays in developing and enhancing performance, as well as the necessity of disseminating the culture of governance between all employees of educational public institutions and others as well.
