In power field the DC/DC converters are electronic devices used to change DC electrical power efficiently from one voltage level to another. Operation of the switching devices causes the inherently nonlinear characteristic of the DC/DC converters including one known as the boost converter, regarding from that this project boost converter was designed with PI controller using MATLAB/Simulink software. For the upgrading of learning process is to compare the open-loop analysis with closed-loop using PI. The controller based on PI technique to analyze the transient response of close-loop system in term of overshoot and response time of the system. The output have been compared by MATLAB/Simulink simulation between the open loop and PI controlled counterpart with same parameters.
