Summary: | Mathematical thinking is very important in attention as well as producing a generation with creative and critical thinking in the field of mathematics. However, most students and educators are not exposed to the mathematical thinking process. Therefore, this study was conducted to find the mathematical thinking of form 2 students on 4 mathematics topics which are Graph Function, Speed and Acceleration, Measurement of Central Tendency and Straight Line. To that end, a test for mathematical thinking assessment was conducted on 100 secondary school students in several secondary schools in Johor districts which have been validated by several teaching experts with a background in Mathematics education and long experience in teaching. This study was conducted using quantitative methods which descriptive statistical analysis method and percentage using GNU PSPP software version 1.2.0 to analyse the data obtained. The findings of the study show that Form 2 students in the state of Johor have good in mathematical thinking on the topic of graph function as well as measurement of central tendency while on topics of speed and acceleration and straight lines are at a moderate level. |
