The aim of this study is to study the suitability of the use of photogrammetry and remote sensing data, integrated with Geographic Information Systems to detect and analyze land cover change. Digital orthophoto of year 2001 and 2005 that are combined with QuickBird image of year 2006 is perceived could fulfill the goal of the study. The Global Positioning System (GPS) is used to establish the ground control points in order to resolve the problem of data integration. In this study, ERDAS Imagine 8.6 and ArcGIS 9.3 software are used as a main medium for data processing and research analysis. The mapping of land cover change digitally for the latest year (2006) of the study area is produced using ArcGIS 9.3 software. The development of land cover geodatabase for the involved years of study also produced for the purpose of storing and managing the data so that the analysis of land cover change can be executed. Based on the study, the results showed that exist changes of land cover of the study area where’s in year 2001 about 16% of the total research area has been cleaned for development. As the impact, at the end of year 2006 it was found that the percentage clear area in UTM is only 3% and this situation is dominated by developed area as much as 55%. This study proved that photogrammetry and remote sensing data can be used for detection of land cover change. 2009 Thesis http://eprints.utm.my/id/eprint/18409/ http://eprints.utm.my/id/eprint/18409/1/KhalilahBintiMuhamadMFGHT2009.pdf application/pdf en public http://dms.library.utm.my:8080/vital/access/manager/Repository/vital:78985?queryType=vitalDismax&query=Mengesan+perubahan+litupan+tanah+dengan+menggunakan+sistem+maklumat+geografi+berdasarkan+data+fotogrametri+dan+penderiaan+jauh&public=true masters Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Faculty of Geoinformation Science And Engineering Faculty of Geoinformation Science And Engineering |
