Labor TR Photography Close range photogrammetry is an easy and swift method to obtain the dimensions of objects from images captured by cameras. The types of cameras used in photogrammetry can be classified into two, namely, metric and non-metric. The difference between these two types of cameras is the stability of their inner orientation parameters. Metric cameras have very stable inner orientation parameters compared to non-metric cameras. This research employed the use of non-metric cameras to analyse the design of a calibration frame in order to determine their inner orientation parameters. The designed of the frame is based on the optimum number of points and target sizes. In total, three camera calibration frames have been used in this study. The inner orientation parameters of a kodak dc290 and canon ixus s400 were determined. The software used to perform the calibration was australis 5.0. Results have shown that an optimum number of points required to produce accuracy 1:15,000 is 53 with 3 mm target sizes. Validation of the results was done using independent systems and the difference, 0.05mm. It is therefore can be concluded that the calibration frame designed in this study is suitable to be used for calibrating non-metric cameras with high accuracy 2006-05 Thesis http://eprints.utm.my/id/eprint/2129/ http://eprints.utm.my/id/eprint/2129/1/FazliAbdulRahmanMFGHT2006.pdf application/pdf en public masters Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Faculty of Geoinformation Science and Engineering; Department of Geomatic Engineering Faculty of Geoinformation Science and Engineering; Department of Geomatic Engineering
